AT THE BOTTOM OF THE BLACK SEA THERE WAS FOUND A TORPEDO BOAT OF THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR PERIOD
In the water area of the Black Sea at Panagia Cape (Krasnodar Krai) there was discovered AKA-76 Torpedo Boat. It was drowned by the German aircraft on November 17th, 1943 during the Kerch-Eltigen landing operation, says Interfax.
The boat was discovered in the area of anchorage, near Kazbek Steamboat sunken in 1914.
According to the Defense Ministry, at the boat there deceased 10 people including Flight Commander, Lieutenant M. P. Matvienko and the commander of the boat Lieutenant M. G. Galliamov. The remains were not discovered.
Torpedo Boat No.76 was constructed in 1941, floated out in April 1943 and came into commission on 15th May 1943, 11th Jun 1943 it became a part of the Black Sea fleet under the name AKA-76.
