"Immortal memory of history we will save for descendants for centuries..."

«Истории немеркнущую память мы сохраним потомкам на века...»

Recently, the searchers of HPC "Search-Dnieper" (NGO "Union "People's Memory") have replenished one of the exhibition halls of Krivoy Rog Local History Museum with military artifacts of World War II.

All handed over exhibits were found in summer 2016, during a search expedition to Sofiyevka district. Among them there are fragments of weapon, pots, helmets, boxes for the MG machine gun, the Mauser rifle and other not less interesting findings. The main and the most important one was the number Medal For Battle Merit.

One can say, the searchers caught a real break. The medal was found among the remains disturbed by marauders who stacked them in bags and carelessly dug in the field.

Later, by database one managed to compute the name of the deceased - lieutenant Miolla Ariflovic Valiulov (born in 1917, a native of the Chuvash ASSR, Chkalovskiy district, Chkalovka village). At the moment, there is carried out the work on search of the lieutenant's relatives, and his medal, meanwhile, will have pride of place in the museum's walls.

The museum workers organised a small tour. After that, those present could watch a documentary film about World War II and the liberation of their native city Krivoi Rog.

In conclusion, on behalf of the searchers made a speech Alexandr Pavlovich Guz. He said about search activity and acquainted in more detail with the exhibits, telling the story of each of them.
