"Save Memory!" in Dnipropetrovsk Region

On May 4th, 2018, the students of Kryvyi Rih school No. 91 and the members of Sokoliata Youth Squad together with the searchers of Search-Dnipro ( Union People's Memory NGO, Kryvyi Rih) took part in "Save Memory!" All-Ukrainian Campaign.

During the campaign, a common grave was put in order in the village of Shiroke (Menzhynka) in Sofiyivka District of Dnipropetrovsk Region.

After that, a "line-up of memory" was held, in which, in mournful silence, the students paid tribute to the memory of the deceased during the Second World War and in the ATO zone.

Olexandr Zelensky, a searcher and volunteer of "Black Tulip" Humanitarian Mission, told the children about work in the East in which he took part.

The campaign ended with laying the flowers in front of the monument to the deceased soldiers.

On the same day, after the campaign, schoolchildren visited Sofiyivka Museum of Local History with great interest.

"Save Memory!" All-Ukrainian Campaign on restoration and Care of Military Memorials and Monuments has its origins in 2013 and is held annually from April 20th till May 8th. The campaign was initiated by Union People's Memory All-Ukrainian Public Organization. More than 1.500 volunteers and searchers take part in it, as well as young people not indifferent to the history of their country.
